I watched The Devil wears Prada last night and gosh, I think it was a fantastic film. Anne Hathaway was as pretty as Snow White and don't let me start on that she was wearing. Sometimes I wished I was working in that kind of line instead of being in the corporate field.
Not only did I love the fashion side of the film, I did too love the storyline about Andy's relationship with her family, friends and her significant other. It could soooo be related to everybody especially those who are just at the starting line of their career path. Sometimes plans with our loved ones have to be cancelled in order to meet our work commitments. Our personality apparently changes once we are with a job hence making us become someone unlike ourselves. Working towards our ultimate dream is most definitely important, but how much could we actually put our loved ones aside? Honestly, I am still stuck in this dilemma of trying to balance between work and personal issues.
OK deep thoughts aside.
Starbucks retrenchment! Woo... News has it that Starbucks is closing some 600 outlets in the US. That's one huge figure - a venti frappuproblem some may say. The amount of Starbucks cafes in America is just too many that every 10 meters you walk, you happen to see one outlet. This is according to my source and I don't entirely know how true this is (maybe someone can clarify?). If this one strong coffee chain can go for an extreme cost cutting measure during the current economy crisis, it must be a real challenge for the small enterprises in the US. Well hopefully it won't affect Malaysia as bad as it hits the States.
OK this is too much work related.
To sum it up, personal life and work issues must be balanced.
